Our next projects

Empowering Through Skills and Opportunity

Most of our next projects will take place in a training center where Tanzania’s most vulnerable youth—especially girls—can learn a practical professional like:

Sewing & fashion design – Furniture making – IT & web development – Jewellery crafting – Soap production – Welding & plumbing – Electrical installation – Photography – Sales & Marketing

The best students, in turn, will be guided to start their own small businesses—set up as cooperatives where members share profits.

Learning From the World – Together

To give our students the best possible start, Infoy will welcome experienced international volunteers to actively join our mission. These dedicated individuals will share their professional knowledge—ranging from business and IT to creative skills and personal development.

Our latest projects

Tree Planting and Beekeeping

We implement tree planting and beekeeping projects in collaboration with the Tanzania Forest Fund (TaFF). These efforts focus on areas under Bumbuli Council. There, we restore the environment while also supporting local livelihoods.

Additionally, we aim to promote socio-economic transformation through strong environmental conservation efforts. Empowering communities and protecting nature creates a truly sustainable future.

We also collaborate with grassroots communities and organisations to strengthen the informal sector. At the same time, we emphasise gender equality and youth and women’s empowerment. These efforts help break the cycle of poverty from the ground up.

Together, let’s grow a greener, fairer future. 🌱

Nutrition and Health

A recently implemented project clearly highlights our commitment to nutrition and health at the community level. To achieve this, we partnered with TAHA Tanzania, a nonprofit focusing on agriculture, to deliver impactful training in Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region.

Specifically, the project educated groups of vegetable farmers about including vegetables in daily meals. Moreover, the training covered preparation methods that preserve nutrients, ensuring families receive full health benefits.

In addition, the program emphasized the vital role of breastfeeding. Mothers learned the importance of exclusive breastfeeding—from birth to six months—before introducing other foods.

Overall, through this partnership, Infoy and TAHA worked closely to promote better nutrition and sustainable health practices in rural communities.

Training Report: Empowering Youth Entrepreneurs with Business Skills

A one-day training session took place at Stereo Hotel to equip youth entrepreneurs with essential business skills. During the session, key topics included writing business plans, saving strategies, accessing loans, and identifying business opportunities. Seventy-five youth from five Arusha wards—Sinoni, Sokoni One, Sombetini, Ngarenaro, and Elerai—attended the training.

The training aimed to raise awareness of the National Youth Development Policy of 2007 and encourage youth to engage actively in entrepreneurship and investment. Many young people have already joined government and community development activities. This session further reinforced their commitment to entrepreneurial ventures.

Moreover, as part of the government’s initiative, the Arusha City Council supports youth through the Youth Development Fund by providing affordable loans. Infoy played a crucial role in connecting youth with local authorities, enabling access to funds and fostering closer ties between young people and government leaders.

Business Competition and Exhibition for Youth

A business competition and exhibition for youth entrepreneurs took place at Nane Nane Themi Grounds in Arusha. The event’s goal was to enhance youth participation in the value chain and help explore business opportunities. Young entrepreneurs from five wards—Sinoni, Sokoni One, Sombetini, Ngarenaro, and Elerai—competed in the event.

The competition focused on creativity, production, packaging, and marketing. Participants were judged on their ability to market products, engage customers, and present business ideas. Ultimately, Sokoni One won the trophy, while all groups received certificates of participation.

Importantly, the event motivated young people to continue entrepreneurial activities. We encouraged them to see entrepreneurship as a viable path to improving their livelihoods.

Connect Youth with Financial and Technical Resources

An internal meeting with youth took place at Stereo Hotel, involving stakeholders like NMB Bank, SIDO, and EFTA. They shared success stories and inspired youth to access funding for entrepreneurial activities. Forty-six participants attended the meeting.

The session also highlighted the Youth Development Fund and its potential to support young entrepreneurs. Infoy played a key role in raising awareness about the fund, which many previously thought targeted mainly women. Since the training, many young men and women are now pursuing the fund. They benefit from the 10% allocation of local government revenue for youth, women, and persons with disabilities.

Overall, Infoy succeeded in motivating youth to engage actively in economic empowerment programs. We helped strengthen partnerships between local government, financial institutions, and young people.

Strategic Meeting Report for Youth Development Stakeholders

A strategic meeting for youth development stakeholders took place at Stereo Hotel in Arusha. Sixty-nine participants attended, including 33 males, 36 females, and government leaders. The main focus was to educate youth on the procedures for acquiring land for investment. The goal was to help young people understand how to access land for business ventures.

Infoy organized the event in collaboration with The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS). We gathered 60 youth from five Arusha wards: Sombetini, Elerai, Sokoni One, Ngarenaro, and Sinoni. Together, the aim was to empower youth with tools for successful investment and business activities. The Arusha City Council remains a key partner, supporting youth with affordable, interest-free loans to kick-start entrepreneurial projects.

Internal Meeting for Youth with Stakeholders for Access to Youth Development Fund

A meeting gathered youth and key stakeholders, including representatives from NMB Bank, SIDO, and EFTA. The goal was to share success stories and inspire others to seek funding from various sources, including the Youth Development Fund.

Importantly, the session raised awareness of the Youth Development Fund, which many initially saw as benefiting mainly women. However, after training, numerous young men and women now actively pursue these funds. Infoy, together with Arusha City Council, has greatly improved youth access to these resources.

Additionally, the meetup encouraged youth to expand their businesses and use financial support from the local government. This support comes from a 10% allocation of revenue collections for youth, women, and people with disabilities.

Conclusion

Our activities include strategic meetings, training sessions, exhibitions, and internal discussions. Together, these efforts have significantly impacted youth in Arusha. Through partnerships with local government and development organizations, Infoy has created platforms for youth entrepreneurship. Moreover, these platforms provide access to financial resources and help improve livelihoods. Moving forward, ongoing collaboration among government, stakeholders, and youth will drive economic growth. Additionally, it will promote sustainable development within the region.
